in 2008, we’re making a difference. In these tough times, needs have grown. Won’t you help us reach those
who need help? The adults and children we touch may not have a Christmas, may go
hungry for yet another day - Christmas Day. Those whose lives we touch enjoy a delicious Christmas
meal of either thick slices of turkey with all the trimmings or scrumptious spaghetti, salad
and fixings. Meals are cooked up by volunteers (members of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in the
Northland) for community members in need of assistance.
These nutritious meals are either hand delivered by these same volunteers to the recipients’
homes or served up hot and delicious at our downtown church partner, Children’s Memorial
Lutheran Church.
And the children are remembered with Christmas gifts too. In 2008, with the assistance of local
social workers, we identified 53 families with children in need in southern Platte
county. Age appropriate gifts and clothing were purchased, wrapped and delivered by the youth
of Gloria Dei.
Please help us, help those in need.
This tournament supports the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church’s Holiday Assistance Program.
Feeding the hungry, sharing gifts and spreading hope at Christmas are
the driving forces behind this golf tournament. From 300 meals
cooked and served in 2002 to 7,574 meals served over the Christmas
holiday in 2008, we’re making a difference. In these tough times,
needs have grown to 7,574 meals served over the Christmas Holiday
